What is Instagram Reels

Instagram Reels is their latest video feature that allows users to shoot a video of up to 15 seconds of music on Instagram.

This latest video feature is available in 50 countries including India, UK, Australia and US. In the coming months, Instagram will release this feature worldwide.

This concept is similar to Tik Tok.It has a separate video feed where you can watch videos from all accounts even though that you don’t follow.

How To Make Instagram Reels

Go to search on Instagram and the top thing likely will be a Reel.

To create a reel,go to the top right corner and tap the camera button or go to create a story and sweep over to reels.

Left hand side it has handy editing tools to edit your videos.

Select ‘Audio’ and add music.

Adjust the Speed by pressing play icon

Choose the Effects to add filters.

Set the Timer,there will be a count before the recording starts.

Press the record button and capture your videos. It has similar features like Tiktok. you can push and play the recordings multiple times.

After finishing recording,try to add eye catching video thumbnails from your video or your camera roll.Make sure add captions and hashtags to get better engagement.

Now tap the share button to post your reels on stories and explore feed.after posting reels there will open a new reel tab on your instagram profile.

Note-If you have a private Instagram account, only people who currently follow you can see your reel.

Reels Sizes You Need to Know

Thumbnail — 1:1 Square or 1080 x 1080

This is used for your thumbnail previews on your profile

Portrait — 4:5 Rectangle or 1080 x 1350

This is when people scroll through their Instagram Feed, it will display in 4:5

Full Screen – 9:16 or 1080 x 1920 (Recommended

This size is what you record your Reels in and how it shows up under the Reels tab on your profile.
